Project details

Structural Focus worked with Levin & Associates Architects and Los Angeles County on this $75 million project, which included the renovation of the historic John Anson Ford Amphitheatre and the construction of the new Ford Terrace, all within the current boundaries of the site. The Ford Amphitheatre opened in 1931, the structure was constructed of poured concrete and designed in the style of ancient Judaic architecture to resemble the gates of Jerusalem. The design team’s goal was to rehabilitate and improve the complex while protecting its historic integrity and status. The renovation enhanced onsite programs and spaces to ensure the future of this historic site as an active and relevant community resource.
