Project details

Los Angeles developer Caruso Affiliated partnered with the future tenant, CBRE Group Inc., Gensler, and Structural Focus for the renovation of Glendale’s historic Masonic Temple. The 1928 steel-framed building once stood as the tallest building on Brand Boulevard and has housed six different Masonic organizations since its opening in 1929. The building is listed in the Glendale Register of Historic Resources and it was the perfect site to bring Caruso Affiliated and CBRE’s revolutionary state-of-the-art office concept to life.

Consisting of four full floors and a basement that extends beyond the building’s footprint, CBRE Masonic Temple is approximately 64 feet wide, 125 feet long, and 105 feet tall. The floor area, including the basement, is approximately 52,500 SF. Structural Focus provided all structural engineering services for this project which included a historic renovation, seismic retrofit, and tenant improvement. The 16 million dollar renovation was completed in approximately seven months from the beginning of design to occupancy.
